How Much Do You Care About Privacy Online?

The latest Prosumer Report came out yesterday and what everybody is talking about is technology and privacy.  According to the survey from Euro RSCG Worldwide, a full service digital agency, 55% of those surveyed said they believe technology is taking away our privacy.

Is this technology’s fault, or ours? The report explains more about how consumers are more willing to share a huge amount and variety of personal information to the digital world than ever before. The study also says 6 out of 10 respondents believe people are guilty of oversharing online via social media channels.

Check out the Prosumer Report and see the infographic below.

Mike Jozaitis - Sr. Digital Marketing Strategist @mjoza | michael.jozaitis@havasdiscovery.com

The EUROCAST is back after a quick week off and here to discuss this week's top digital and social marketing news!

This week I'm (@mjoza) joined by three new guests - Ryan Katz, Group Account Director; Eric Leikus (@eleikus), Sr. Application Developer and Marisa Beauduy (@MarisaBeauduy), Jr. Digital Marketing Strategist.

Our digital marketing brain trust tackled the three hottest marketing headlines of the week -

  • Facebook buys social photo sharing app Instagram for $1 Billion - Brilliant, or a waste of cash?
  • Best Buy's CEO is out and they closing close to 50  stores nationwide - Will this help revive the bix box electronics giant?
  • TNT's earns the top two spot for the most viral ad of all time, http://goo.gl/nWnbk. Is it any good?

Listen to the full show on the SoundCloud player below and let us know what you think, or what you'd like us to talk about next, in the comments section!

My Top 3 Go-To’s

My morning routine always consists of scouring over my Twitter feed for the latest digital marketing and advertising industry news, trends, and blog posts.  However, there are three places that are must-reads digital marketing blogs for me.  Mediabistro, Business Insider, and the AdFreak blog from AdWeek.

Mediabistro is my first stop.  Here I get all the headlines from across all mediums.  It pulls top stories from other sources such as TechCrunch, TVNewser, The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, and others.

My next stop is Business Insider, the Advertising page of course (however I do love that sports page now that it’s Stanley Cup Playoff time). I know that any breaking advertising story will be here… as well as the latest scoop on the recent episode of Mad Men.

Last stop on the morning marketing news express is AdFreak.  Let’s face it-- there are some ads out there that are real head scratchers.  If you have the time, check out the 30 Freakiest Ads of 2011, but not #16 if you get nightmares.

What’s on your Top 3 marketing blog List?

Let me know!

Spring Cleaning From the Euro Technology World

Spring Cleaning For The Tech Generation

While we are all getting our houses and yards ready for spring, I thought it would be nice to remind everyone that their computers need some spring cleaning, as well.  First and foremost, we’ll start with the most literal spring cleaning concept.  Your computer gets more dust, dirt and debris in it than you want to know about.  This is very bad, and will cause your computer to overheat, break down, or make you not want to touch it.  So why not give your computer the love your house gets?
