The Euro Technology World 2: Windows 8 Preview
Windows 8 first impressions
Take everything you know about Windows, and throw it out the window. As an end user, a typical consumer, or a casual user, your learning curve will be massive. If you are a bit tech savvy, you will get some logic out of the system where logic applies. However, even those are few and far between. When you set up a new machine with Windows 8 so far it is just like a 7 setup. However, once you login you are immediately taken to the new Metro layout which will remind you of the Xbox 360 dashboard. And it navigates similarly as well. You can navigate through your computer in a somewhat traditional "desktop", but your start button will immediately take you to the "metro station" as I like to call it.
To be... or not to be... for businesses
I can see now why Microsoft is offering support for Windows 7 Professional until 2020. I don't see this system catching on ...

Euro Does SMX East: Part 1 of 3
SMX, or Bust! Well, not really... Amtrak has a pretty good reputation.
In just a few short hours I’ll be hopping on a train up to NYC for what’s been described as “the world's premier search marketing conference,” That’s right SMX East - presented By Search Engine Land!

E-retailers are leveraging the natural enjoyment of shopping with a video presentation. This concept is inspiring consumers and revolutionizing the buying process. Featuring live video streams of products can create a unique user/buyer relationship. In particular, Burberry and Sak’s Fifth Avenue are both showcasing their clothing lines through videos (fashion show films and live models). This is allowing the consumer to ...

In the corporate world here, we have a lot of different software running, and hardware operating. Getting everyone on the same page? Well, that is impossible.
Perfection?
What would be ideal in any environment would be one type of computer, one type of operating system, and one type of printer. That's what is easy. What is realistic is that you will get a diverse range of hardware and software specifically for every purpose. So that is where we are, various types of Apple computers, various Windows machines, desktops and laptops, multiple printers—both black and white and color—multiple servers, and a huge range of software.
Now, what do you do about that?
Easy, you work to make everything more and more compatible. Find ways where everyone can use ...
